Dmitry Osipov participates in key events of Russia-Africa Forum

Dmitry Osipov, CEO of Uralkali (the Company; Moscow Exchange: URKA), one of the worlds leading potash producers, has participated in a number of key events of the Russia-Africa Economic Forum held in Sochi, Russia on 23-24 October 2019 as part of the Russia-Africa summit.

The Companys CEO attended a meeting with Denis Manturov, Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, and representatives of the Southern African Development Community (SADC). SADC is focused on facilitating integration processes in Southern Africa, fostering broad cooperation in the social and economic area, increasing stability and security in the region, as well as developing a well-coordinated foreign policy. The organisation is one of the largest and most influential regional associations in Africa with a total population of approximately 300 million people and a combined GDP of more than $1.5 trillion. The Community is currently chaired by John Magufuli, the President of Tanzania.

Dmitry Osipov also participated in a meeting with Nana Akufo-Addo, the President of Ghana, during which various issues of potential cooperation between Uralkali and local businesses, ministries and government departments were discussed. Ghana is an agrarian country with a stable market economy. The agricultural sector, which employs more than half of the countrys population, accounts for a quarter of the GDP. This makes the region highly attractive for fertiliser producers and other companies and organisations in the agricultural and associated sectors.

The Russia-Africa Economic Forum is an important event aimed at creating the most favourable conditions for the promotion and enhancement of trade and economic relations between the Russian Federation and African countries, enabling the diversification of the Russia-Africa cooperation.

The forum is attended by the heads of African states, representatives of Russian, African and international businesses and government agencies, integration associations from the African continent.

Uralkali (www.uralkali.com) is one of the worlds largest potash producers and exporters. The Companys assets consist of 5 mines and 7 ore treatment plants in the towns of Berezniki and Solikamsk (Perm Region, Russia). Uralkali employs ca. 12,000 people in the main production unit. Uralkalis shares are traded on the Moscow Exchange.
